Apartment R is the result of a complete renovation of an apartment from the 60's located in the Bastille neighborhood of Paris. The original apartment layout was very fragmented, having two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The client requested to increase the sensation of spaciousness and brightness of this 65m² apartment. In order to achieve this, the design fosters the visual continuity of the longitudinal windows, as well as the spatial connection between the different rooms, reducing the presence of doors and completely opening the kitchen to the living room. Thanks to the new open layout, the attention to the details, the use of a neutral palette of colors, and the installation of a natural wood flooring, it was possible to transform a traditional, compartmentalized unit into a minimalist, elegant, open and functional apartment.
